Theo Lykos, PhD Dairy Nutritionist, Owner.
Theo was born in Greece where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science; he received a Master’s degree in Dairy Nutrition from University of New Hampshire and Doctorate in Dairy Nutrition from Penn State University (1995). Theo worked as a nutritionist for Continental Grain in CA for 5 yrs and in 2000 he started his own consulting business, Dairy Technical Solutions, Inc., based in Fresno CA. He is also part owner of another consulting business (Dairy Visions, LLC) based in Chandler, AZ. Theo is a professional member of ADSA, ASAS, and ARPAS.
Theo believes in a hands on approach so you will find him inside the corrals as much as in front of the computer; working with the management and feeders is as important as feeding a balanced ration. He uses CNCPS based software to formulate rations and SESAME for feedstuff evaluation, and proficient with DC305 which is an integral part of his nutrition making decisions. Assisting the dairymen with production efficiency benchmarks, feed budgets and, on a needed basis, will work with the dairyman’s banker.
